PRATECH®GR55 Grout Mortar

Underfloor Filling: Cement-based grout mortar can be used to fill and level gaps beneath tile, ceramic, or natural stone floor coverings.
Structural Column and Wall Connections: Cement-based grout mortar can be used to fill and support the gaps between structural elements. This is a common application to reinforce the spaces between components such as column-to-wall connections.
Machine Feet and Anchors: The feet and anchors of machines used in industrial facilities can be reinforced with cement-based grout mortar. This helps secure the machines and enhance their stability.
Bridge and Viaduct Construction: Cement-based grout mortar is typically used in bridge and viaduct construction for cable connections, pylons, and other structural elements.
Manhole and Sewer Systems: Cement-based grout mortar can be used during the assembly of manhole structures and in sewer systems. This application is common in infrastructure projects.
Concrete Repair: Cement-based grout mortar can be used to fill cracks and holes in concrete surfaces. This is frequently applied in concrete repair and maintenance work.
Pools and Water Tanks: Cement-based grout mortar can be used to repair cracked or damaged areas in water tanks or pools.
Railway Projects: Cement-based grout mortar can be used in railway systems to fill gaps under the rails and enhance stability.

Cleaning: The surface must be free from dust, dirt, oil, paint residues, and other contaminants. Cleaning should be performed using a brush, broom, air blower, or suitable cleaning materials.
Crack and Hole Inspection: Existing cracks, holes, or voids in the surface must be inspected, and if necessary, previous repairs or loose materials should be removed.
Moisture Control: The moisture level of the surface must be at an appropriate level. Cement-based grout mortar can usually be applied to damp surfaces, but excessive moisture or dryness may cause problems.
Sealing of Cold Joints (Optional): If there are cold joints, they may need to be properly sealed. This can prevent the grout mortar from spreading to unwanted areas.
Surface Smoothing: If there are rough areas, protrusions, or irregularities on the surface, they should be corrected or properly prepared.
Surface Temperature: The surface temperature should be taken into account before application. Cement-based grout mortar is usually applied within a certain temperature range, so the suitability of that temperature range should be verified.

To prepare the mortar, slowly add 25 kg of the product to about 4 liters of water and mix until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Do this with a low speed mixer for 3-4 minutes. Make sure the mixture is homogeneous and free of lumps. Let the prepared mortar rest for 3-4 minutes to mature and then immediately pour it on the application site. Pratech®GR55 has a fluid nature and the mortar should be poured continuously from one side to avoid air entrapment at the pouring site. Make sure that air bubbles are removed, otherwise air entrapment may prevent the grout mortar from fully contacting the surface. Pour the grout continuously from one side, never from two sides. Do not use a vibrator; instead use a steel wire with a hooked end. Do not exceed 4-5 cm thickness in large areas. For thicker applications, pour in 2 or 3 layers.

• During the grout mortar application, observe all safety regulations. Wear appropriate footwear to prevent slips, and keep the work area organized.
• If working in environments with flammable materials during the grout mortar application, ensure access to fire extinguishing equipment and take necessary fire safety measures.
• Provide good ventilation during the grout mortar application. If working indoors, use windows or fans to supply fresh air.
• Avoid contact with the chemical substances used during the grout mortar application. If contact occurs with the mortar and any reaction develops on the skin, eyes, or respiratory system, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical attention if necessary.
• After the application, clean the equipment used and the work area. Dispose of any leftover grout mortar material properly.
• There should be no precipitation such as rain or snow during and immediately after the grout mortar application. Precipitation can affect the surface of the mortar and disrupt the drying process.
• Ensure that the application area is not exposed to excessive sunlight. Excessive sunlight may accelerate the drying of the mortar and increase the risk of cracking.
• Strong winds or air currents can make the application and drying of the mortar difficult, and may even affect the mortar’s surface.
• The humidity level of the environment where the grout mortar is applied is also important. Typically, the ambient humidity should be appropriate during both the application and drying processes. Excessive humidity can affect the drying of the mortar and lead to undesirable results.
