Airports and Transportation Routes: Hardening concrete surfaces in airport aprons, train stations, highways, and other transportation routes ensures abrasion resistance and long-lasting flooring.

Concrete must have sufficient compressive strength in order to form a solid ground. In areas with heavy load traffic, the minimum compressive strength of concrete should be 30 N/mm2 (28 days). If the concrete consistency of the application surface is too solid, the surface cannot absorb the water required for the hardener reaction and therefore hardening will not occur. If the consistency is too watery, the surface hardener enters into the poured concrete and the desired result cannot be obtained.

Depending on the ambient and weather conditions, the spreading process should be started after the concrete has set enough to leave a footprint 0.5-1.5 cm deep, but not so deep that it will sink when stepping on it. Sprinkle 2/3 of the mixture homogeneously on the fresh concrete. The material moistened with concrete water is fed into the fresh concrete with a disc trowel and integration is ensured. After the first application, the remaining 1/3 of the material is sprinkled on the concrete and finishing is continued to be vertical to the first application. The final finishing polishing is done by adjusting the angle of the trowel and blade until the desired flatness is obtained. Quick setting should be prevented by lightly spraying water on the surface and then covering it with foil and crack control joints should be cut from the necessary points and filled with suitable material.

• The surface hardener should be left for at least 4 hours after concrete is poured and until no water puddles remain on the surface.
• Application should not be done during adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, or strong winds.
• The surface hardener takes 24-48 hours to fully dry. During this period, the surface must be protected from mechanical loads and excessive water.
• Use chemically resistant and waterproof gloves, dust masks, goggles or face shields, closed-toe non-slip shoes, and workwear.
• If possible, ensure good ventilation in the application area.
• Keep flammable materials away from the application area.
• After application, wash your hands and face with soap and water.
• In case of eye or skin contact, rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.
• If swallowed, seek immediate medical attention.
